Dynamic Labs can duplicate practically any shock environment known to exist in industry. Shock environments include those found in the following environments:
· Commercial electronic components
Classical shock profiles are usually defined in terms of shape, amplitude and duration. Non-classical shock profiles, known as SRS shocks, are defined in terms of natural frequency and amplitude. Shocks of all types can be duplicated with a sled, drop tower, shock machine or an electrodynamic shaker system. Pyrotechnic type shocks, usually containing very high frequencies, can be duplicated utilizing an air cannon and a beam / plate.

The types of shocks tested at Dynamic Labs includes:

Drop Shock: Drop shock testing is conducted on parts where acceleration levels are above 50g and of longer duration than 11ms. Drop towers, coupled with appropriate dampening / rebound material, are utilized to provide high velocity requirements. Drop shock testing also includes dropping packages or products to concrete floors or other surfaces.
Bench Handling Shock: Bench-handling shock is similar to drop shock testing in that products are dropped according to various specifications to duplicate environments typically experienced during handling.
SRS and/or Pyrotechnic Shock: Dynamic Labs can duplicate a Pyrotechnic shock event. This testing is conducted in order to duplicate stage separation, satellite ejection and other typical aerospace activities. An air cannon method is utilized, which is highly repeatable by design. Some SRS shocks are also performed by the air cannon method. Other SRS Shocks can be performed on an electrodynamic shaker system.
Classical Shock: Classical shock type events happen in all types of industries and are representative of events that occur with airplanes, launch vehicles, and commercial electronic hardware products . Classical shocks can be duplicated with electrodynamic shakers, drop towers, or shock machines and includes the following:
